THE FOUNDER – NIKKI MYERS
Nikki Myers is a yoga therapist, teacher and somatic experiencing practitioner who founded CITYOGA School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis, IN. She launched Yoga of 12-Step Recovery in 2004 based on her own personal struggles with addiction.

What is Y12SR?
Y12SR stands for the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery. Rooted in the wisdom of Yoga Sutra 2:16 (“future suffering can be avoided”), the Y12SR online intensive integrates the cognitive tools of the 12-step program with the somatic practices offered through yoga.
Who would benefit from this training?
This training can benefit anyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or those affected by the addicted behaviors of others. It’s also for yoga teachers and addiction recovery professionals who may be interested in becoming Y12SR leaders and offering Y12SR in their communities.
What is a Y12SR leader?
A certified Y12SR leader is someone who has completed part 1 and 2 of the Y12SR training and is now able to offer Y12SR classes to their community. They have the tools and knowledge to create and hold safe spaces for those impacted by addiction.
How do I become a Y12SR leader?
Will I be certified after taking this course?
No. This is part one of a two-step process.

No. This course is for anyone who is interested in learning more about addiction, yoga, and the 12 steps.

What does the online format look like? How is the content organized?
There are 8 chapters that are broken down into individual learning modules that are easy to follow. Additionally, there is a digital pdf provided for course takers to reference as they view the presentation. At the end of the course, there is a review that you must complete if you would like to go on to part two of the Y12SR leader certification process.
